【摘要】:Thetruespecificgravityofamaterialistheratioofitstruedensity,determinedataspecifictemperature,tothetruedensityofwater,determinedataspecifictemperature.Thus,thetruespecificgravityofamaterialisaprimarypropertywhichisrelatedtochemicalandmineralogicalcomposition.ThistestmethodisparticularlyusefulforhydratablematerialswhicharenotsuitablefortestwithTestMethodC135.Forrefractoryrawmaterialsandproductsthetruespecificgravityisausefulvaluefor:classification,detectingdifferencesinchemicalcompositionbetweensupposedlylikesamples,indicatingmineralogicalphasesorphasechanges,calculatingtotalporositywhenthebulkdensityisknown,andforanyothertestmethodthatrequiresthisvalueforthecalculationofresults.Thistestmethodisaprimarystandardmethodwhichissuitableforuseinspecifications,qualitycontrol,andresearchanddevelopment.Itcanalsoserveasarefereetestmethodinpurchasingcontractsoragreements.Fundamentalassumptionsinherentinthistestmethodarethefollowing:Thesampleisrepresentativeofthematerialingeneral,Thetotalsamplehasbeenreducedtotheparticlesizespecified,Nocontaminationhasbeenintroducedduringprocessingofthesample,Theignitionofthesamplehaseliminatedallfreeorcombinedwaterwithoutinducingsinteringoralteration,Aninertgas(helium)hasbeenusedinthetest,andThetestmethodhasbeenconductedinameticulousmanner.Deviationfromanyoftheseassumptionsnegatestheusefulnessoftheresults.IninterpretingtheresultsofthistestmethoditmustberecognizedthatthespecifiedsampleparticlesizeissignificantlyfinerthanspecifiedforTestMethodC135.Eventhisfinerparticlesizeforthesampledoesnotprecludethepresenceofsomeclosedpores,andtheamountofresidualclosedporesmayvarybetweenmaterialsorevenbetweensamplesofthesameorlikematerials.Thevaluesgeneratedbythistestmethodmay,therefore,beverycloseapproximationsratherthanaccuraterepresentationsoftruespecificgravities.Thus,comparisonsofresultsshouldonlybejudiciouslymadebetweenlikematerialstestedbythistestmethodorwithfullrecognitionofpotentiallyinherentdifferencesbetweenthematerialsbeingcomparedorthetestmethodused.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetruespecificgravityofsolidmaterials,andisparticularlyusefulformaterialsthateasilyhydratewhicharenotsuitablefortestwithTestMethodC135.ThistestmethodmaybeusedasanalternateforTestMethodC135,TestMethodC128,andTestMethodC188fordeterminingtruespecificgravity.1.2Units8212;ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Exception8212;In7.3theequivalentSIunitisexpressedinparenthesis.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
