【摘要】:ThispartofBS5839providesrecommendationsfortheplanning,design,installation,commissioningandmaintenanceoffiredetectionandfirealarmsystemsinandaroundbuildings,otherthandwellings.Itdoesnotrecommendwhetherornotafirealarmsystemshouldbeinstalledinanygivenpremises.RecommendationsforfiredetectionandalarmsystemsindwellingsaregiveninBS5839-6.Thetermfiredetectionandalarmsystems,inthecontextofthispartofBS5839,includessystemsthatrangefromthosecomprisingonlyoneortwomanualcallpointsandsounderstocomplexnetworkedsystemsthatincorporatealargenumberofautomaticfiredetectors,manualcallpointsandsounders,connectedtonumerousinter-communicatingcontrolandindicatingpanels.Thetermalsoincludessystemsthatarecapableofprovidingsignalstoinitiatetheoperationofotherfireprotectionsystemsandequipment(suchasfireextinguishingsystems,smokecontrolsystemsorautomaticdoorreleaseequipment)orsafetymeasures(suchasshutdownofairhandlingsystems,closingofoilorgasvalves,orgroundingoflifts).Itdoesnotapplytotheothersystemsandequipmentthemselves,ortheancillarycircuitstointerfacewiththem.Recommendationsfortheplanning,installationandservicingoffacilitiesforoperationofcertainfireprotectionsystemsbythesystemsaddressedwithinthispartofBS5839aregiveninBS7273.ThispartofBS5839doesnotcoversystemswhoseprimaryfunctionistoextinguishorcontrolfire,suchassprinklerorautomaticextinguishingsystems,eventhoughtheymighthaveasecondaryalarmfunction;itdoes,however,covertheuseofasignalfromanautomaticextinguishingsystemasoneinitiatingelementofafirealarmsystem(e.g.byuseofapressureorflowswitch).ThispartofBS5839doesnotcovervoicealarmsystems.RecommendationsforvoicealarmsystemsaregiveninBS5839-8.ThispartofBS5839doesnotcoversystemscombiningfirealarmfunctionswithothernon-firerelatedfunctions.Recommendationsforsuchintegratedsystemsaregivenin#DDCLC/TS50398.$ThispartofBS5839doesnotcoverthe999(or112)publicemergencycallsystem,ormanuallyormechanicallyoperatedsounders.ThispartofBS5839doesnotcoveraudibleorvisualway-guidancesystemswhicharedesignedtocomplementfirealarmsystems.RecommendationsforfiredetectionandalarmsystemsinelectronicdataprocessinginstallationsandsimilarcriticalelectronicequipmentroomsaregiveninBS6266,whichprovidesrecommendationsoverandabovethosegiveninthispartofBS5839.Recommendationsforfiredetectionandalarmsystemsinhospitalsaregiveninthe#NHSEstatespublicationsHTM05-03PartB82(inEnglandandWales)orSHTM82(inScotland).$ThispartofBS5839appliestoextensionsandalterationstoexistingsystems,atleastinrespectofthedesign,installation,commissioningandcertificationofthenewwork,albeitthattheextendedoralteredsystemmightnot,overall,complywiththerecommendationsofthisstandard.
