【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedtoprovideinstallationguidancefordesigners,specifiers,installationcontractors,regulatoryagencies,owners,andinspectorswhoareinvolvedintheplanningandinstallationofgeocompositepavementedgedrainsandunderdrains.Aswithanystandardpractice,modificationmayberequiredforspecificprojectconditionsorforspeciallocalorregionalconditions.Fig.1showstheproperhorizontalalignmentofthedrainbasedonvarioustrenchconditionsoutlinedin9.2,andtheverticaldepthofplacementofthedrainneededforageocompositeedgedraintofunctionmosteffectivelyasbothacollectorandconduit.Fig.2showsthetypicaltypeandarrangementofequipmentusedtoinstallgeocompositehighwayedgedrains.Thecombinationoftheserecommendedinstallationconditions,techniques,andequipmentarecriticaltothesatisfactorylongtermperformanceoftheseproducts.FIG.1TypicalTypeandArrangementofDrainNote8212;Drainpositioninggateshouldbelocatedandadjustedtoposition,andholdthegeocompositedrainagainstthetrenchwall,topreventpossiblex201C;Jx201D;ingorx201C;Cx201D;ingofthedrainduringbackfillingandcompaction.FIG.2ProperHorizontalAlignment1.1Thispracticecoversrecommendationsandidentifiespertinentareasofconsiderationfortheinstallationofburiedgeocompositedrainsusedforhighwayedgedrains,under-drains,orotherpavementdrainageapplicationsmeetingtherequirementsofSpecificationD7001.Theserecommendationsareintendedasguidelinesfordevelopingasatisfactoryconstructionandinstallationmethodtominimizeinstallation-causeddeformationordamageandtoprovidelong-termperformanceoftheseproducts.Itisalsointendedasaguidelineforensuringastableundergroundenvironmentforthesematerialsunderawiderangeofserviceconditions.Becauseofthenumerousanddiverseproductdesignsavailableandtheinherentvariabilityofnaturalgroundconditions,achievingsatisfactoryperformanceofanyoneproductmayrequirereviewbytheengineerandmodificationtoprovisionscontainedhereintomeetspecificprojectrequirements.1.2Thescopeofthispracticenecessarilyexcludesproductperformancecriteriasuchascompressibilityinanyplane,flowcapacity,inletcapacity,orgeotextileselectionanduse.Itis,therefore,incumbentupontheproductmanufacturer,specifier,andprojectengineertoverifythattheproductspecifiedforanintendedapplication,wheninstalledaccordingtoproceduresoutlinedinthispractice,willprovidesatisfactorylongtermperformanceaccordingtocriteriaestablishedbytheownerforthatapplication.Acommentaryofproductperformanceandinstallationfactorsimportantinachievingasatisfactoryinstallationisincludedin.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
